Beginner Wrestling Class Child Athletes

Ages: 5 - 10 years

Join us at Diesel Wrestling Academy for our Beginner Wrestling Class, designed specifically for young athletes aged 5-10! Under the expert guidance of Coach Yarinel, our classes are scheduled on Saturdays: May 5, 12, 19, 26 and June 2, 9, 16, 23, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM.

Focus and Fundamentals: This class is hyper-focused on the fundamentals and techniques of wrestling, providing your child with a solid foundation in the sport. Throughout the 8 sessions, students will learn and practice:

  • Stance and Movement Drills: Establishing a strong and effective wrestling stance and improving mobility on the mat.

  • Basic Takedown Techniques: Mastering the essential takedowns that every wrestler needs to know.

  • Rebuilding Base from Bottom: Techniques to regain a dominant position from a disadvantaged state.

  • Principles of Top Position: Controlling and maintaining the top position during a match.

Athletic Development: In addition to wrestling techniques, a significant portion of the class is dedicated to athletic development. Our tailored athletic warm-ups and exercises are designed to strengthen young bodies, making them more agile and fit for wrestling. Exercises include:

  • Pushups
